21st Century children and teenagers will live longer than any humans who have come before. They are healthier, wealthier, better-informed, and connected to the world. This is transformative, so I have been speaking and writing about growing up in the 21st century. One of the current projects is a book called Our Whole World in Their Hands (work-in-progress). The subtitle is 21st Century School & Our Global Future because we must think about learning in new ways, move beyond our 20th-century traditions, and pivot to a form of education that's consistent with the way they learn. The book ties many themes together: population migration, well-being education, what subjects students learn and why, ownership of digital rights, technology, developmental psychology, cognitive science, and more--all of these are fundamentals in 21st century learning.
